Brett Costello
Brett Costello is an influential Australian radio presenter, club DJ, and music director who has been a major tastemaker in the global Soul, R&B, and Hip-Hop scenes for over two decades. Much like Gary Jackson, Geoff Dorfett, and Viv Craggs, he has extended his on-air presence far beyond his local market through extensive international syndication. Costello began his career in Perth, Western Australia, rising through the ranks of influential local community radio stations 6NR and KCR FM. He later transitioned into commercial radio, breaking boundaries in 2002 with the launch of the R&B Bounce on 96fm. Between 2003 and 2009, he became a core fixture on major commercial station Nova 937, co-hosting premier urban blocks like Urban Essentials and R&B Shortkutz alongside Nick Alexander. He is also a long-time ARIA club chart reporting DJ and has served as an official voter in the urban category for the Australian ARIA Music Awards.
